Mission is home to the World Birding Center at the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, the NABA International Butterfly Park and several golf courses. Shary Municipal Golf COurse, which has both an 18-hole layout and nine-hole course, offers tee times to the public. Howling Trails Golf Course offers 27 holes, and Mission West is a semi-private club that offers a par-70 course that plays just over 6,000 yards. And The Club at Cimarron is an 18-hole layout that plays nearly 6,800 yards from the tips. There's also plenty of golf in neighboring communities, like Palm View Municipal in McAllen and Los Lagos Golf Club in Edinburg.
