Golf Courses in Pasadena, TX
Famous for the Gilley's honkytonk that no longer exists but was featured in the movie, “Urban Cowboy,” Pasadena remains a gas and oil refinery town with around 150,000 residents. Country music, of course, is still big in Pasadena as are barbecue and Tex-Mex food. There also are a fair number there who like to play golf. Pasadena Municipal, a Jay Riviere design, is one option for public tee times. Or golfers can head about five miles east and play Battleground Golf Course, a nice Deer Park championship length municipal layout. Houston muni Gus Wortham, which was recently renovated and plays host to the City Amateur, is another good public option, just a few miles west of Pasadena. And La Porte, which is also next to Pasadena offers the very popular Bay Forest Golf Course, another Riviere design.
