Golf Courses in San Marcos, TX

The home of Texas State University, San Marcos, which is located between Austin and San Antonio, has a lot going for it. The city of 67,000 people offers Wonderworld Park and its caverns, glass bottom boat tours, the largest outlet mall in Texas, several craft breweries, live music and the San Marcos River, a popular spot for canoeing and floating down the river on inner tubes. It also has a nice golf scene, thanks in large part to a recent addition, Kissing Tree Golf Club, which is part of a 55-and-over senior community on the south side of the city. The Gary Stephenson design has a view from a tee that's on the highest point in San Marcos. In addition to Kissing tree, golfers in the area can also get tee times at 7,132-yard Plum Creek Golf Club just up the road in Kyle as well as The Bandit, a wonderful Keith Foster design on the edge of neighboring New Braunfels.
