It s no secret why Rhodes Ranch Golf Club is a choice tee time for local and traveling golfers alike in Las Vegas. Situated just 10 miles from The Strip in the Las Vegas Valley near the base of the Spring Mountains, the club has a well-earned reputation as a beautiful and fun place to play that provides excellent value. Highly skilled and less accomplished golfers enjoy their rounds here. Designed by the legendary course architect Ted Robinson, Sr., Rhodes Ranch Golf Club is an oasis-like facility. The routing encompasses 162 acres and sits in the heart of a residential development. Although a few holes of Robinson s original routing have been modified to make way for more housing, the tropical setting of palm trees and water features and the distant views of the city and the mountains make a lasting impression. Rhodes Ranch Golf Club is a par-71 course with just three par 5s. Four sets of tee markers provide distance options from 4,977 yards up to 6,582 yards. While the lush emerald fairways, spiced up withelevation changes and mounds, look reassuring from the tee boxes, beware of the thick rough. The turf on this well-conditioned playing field is a joy to hit from, although you may have face some awkward lies and stances because of the movement in the land. Throughout his career, Robinson earned the title The King of Water Features, and he didn t disappoint here. Numerous lakes and ponds add aesthetics and strategy on seven holes, as exciting risk/reward options tempt all levels of players. While you ll face exhilarating forced carry shots on the par 3s, there s usually a clear bailout or a conservative way around the hazards. Rhodes Ranch Golf Club is known for its outstanding collection of par 3s Robinson considered them among the finest set of short holes he ever created. With its waterfall cascading to the left of the green, the 16th is a Ted Robinson classic and part of a memorable and tough finishing stretch.
