Punta Blanca Golf & Beach Club, a 2007 design by three-time major winner and World Golf Hall of Famer Nick Price, is located inland in a Punta Cana, Dominican Republic location that is convenient to a slew of oceanfront resorts. The championship course, Price s first in the Caribbean, has hosted many tournaments but it is also a favorite course on the island because it is user-friendly for holiday golfers. Punta Blanca Golf & Beach Club s gaping, flat Paspalum fairways and receptive greens make the course manageable for players of all skill levels. With four sets of tee markers, the par-72 layout offers appropriately differentiated challenges from as short as 5,583 yards and as long as 7,174 yards. Price carved the playing field out of a jungle, so although this is a course where even long hitters can use their driver on most tee shots, the thick vegetation, wetlands, and ponds that lurk beyond the wide fairways spell certain doom for wayward golf balls. The primary challenge when playing Punta Blanca Golf & Beach Club comes on approach shots as the margin for error diminishes. The varied back nine, which features three par 3s, three par 4s, and three par 5s, stands out as the highlight of the round. Holes 13 and 15, both of which are par 3s, add the thrill of island-style greens. Most players enjoy putting on the fast and firm greens at Punta Blanca Golf & Beach Club. They roll true. Although the golf grounds are flat and easily navigated, carts are mandatory for all players. Practice facilities at Punta Blanca Golf & Beach Club include a driving range and putting green. The full-service clubhouse features a well-stocked pro shop, locker rooms, club storage, and a restaurant and bar with a patio. Punta Blanca Golf & Beach Club isn t the most spectacular course, but it s a favorite Punta Cana tee time option because of its location, its solid design that gives players a chance to shoot a good score, and its more affordable green fees compared to other layouts.
