    Quickly becoming a popular European golfing destination, New Forest Golf Club in Tyrrellspass, County Westmeath, is a parkland gem. Located in the romantic and historic New Forest Estate, the 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course was designed by Peter McEvoy. The natural beauty of the area and forested terrain is used to seamlessly blend this magnificent course into its surroundings. New Forest Golf Club features a top-flight driving range, putting greens and pro shop. An 18th century mansion doubles as the Forest Golf Club's clubhouse, with luxury locker-room facilities, restaurant, conservatory bar and picturesque views. The terrain is flat and natural, with a mixture of tree lined holes, and holes that are more exposed to the elements. The full area of the golf course was built on a glacial deposit of sand and gravel, which was used as a foundation for all fairways, tees and greens. This gives New Forest the added bonus of good quality drainage all year round. Strategy off the tee will be rewarded more than raw power. The variety in size and undulation from green to green challenges both iron play and pace putting throughout the round. A challenge that all golfers will remember.
